Fight. Or Die. Yeah, that's a mantra that seems perfectly suited to a WWE Studios flick. The official theatrical poster has been unveiled for The Day, an apocalyptic thriller WWE Studios picked up the full US distribution rights to last year. Directed by Doug Aarniokoski, the film features a great young cast that includes Shannyn Sossamon(The Rules of Attraction), Shawn Ashmore(X-men), Dominic Monaghan(Lost), Ashley Bell(The Last Exorcism), Cory Hardrict(Battle: Los Angeles), and Michael Eklund(The Divide).
Set in a post-apocalyptic future, the film follows 24 hours in the lives of five survivors trying to find refuge from a war ravaged civilization. Taking shelter in an abandoned farmhouse, they unwittingly set off a trap that signals their presence to the predators lying in wait, and with resources dwindling fast and nowhere to run, the survivors must make a final, desperate stand in order to survive.
The teaser trailer released awhile back was promising, showing that it wouldn't just be all gore and violence, but would take a few moments for reflection as well. Hopefully this poster signals that a full trailer is on the way. The Day is set to hit theaters on August 29th. [BloodyDisgusting]
