Well, they have to do something to make all of these Taken 2 trailers stand out, even if it means having Liam Neeson introduce one. The unlikely action hero dons his most gravelly, road flare voice ever at the beginning of this new Youtube exclusive trailer, but once that's over it's more of what we've seen nearly a half-dozen times before. Oh, Liam, you don't have to threaten us to go see your movie. Just promise us there won't be anymore trailers, that's all.
To be fair, Taken 2 looks like it'll be just as much fun and intense as the original, thanks to a script co-written by Luc Besson, who specializes in these sorts of trashy action flicks. Directed by the awesomely named Olivier Megaton("awesomely named" his official descriptor around these parts), the film has ex-agent Bryan Mills taking his family on an ill-advised trip to Istanbul, where they are promptly kidnapped by the father of one of Bryan's dead enemies from the last film. Maggie Grace is back as Kim, who now has the unenviable task of playing hero and rescuing daddy.
Taken 2 hits theaters on October 5th....
