New poster for 'Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning' with Jean-Claude Van Damme

Jean-Claude Van Damme may have recently lamented the lack of franchise flicks in his lengthy and influential career, but he actually has one that's been around for twenty years. That would be Universal Soldier, which was a huge $100M hit back in 1992 because people wanted to see the guy from Bloodsport kick Dolph "Ivan Drago" Lundrgen's ass.

Although there have been four Universal Soldier sequels, only two of them are considered in-continuity, and now we're on the verge of getting one more with the release of Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning.  Van Damme and Lundgren are joined by Scott Adkins, their co-star in The Expendables 2, in what I'm sure will be a true actors' showcase. Ok, maybe not, but we'll probably get to see some triple threat action as Adkins plays a man who believes the Universal Soldiers are responsible for his wife's death.

A new poster has been released ahead of the film's VOD debut on October 25th, before hitting theaters on November 30th. John Hyams will direct.
