New clip from 'Rust and Bone' with Marion Cotillard and Matthias Schoenaerts

We're exactly one month away from the release of Rust and Bone, and for me it's been an excruciating wait. Directed by Jacques Audiard, who bowled us over a couple of years ago with A Prophet, it's one that is all but a lock to be a major force this awards season, with stars Marion Cotillard and Matthias Schoenaerts(Bullhead) already talked about as contenders.

The latest clip I think says a lot about the story's central relationship, as well as showing off some of the gorgeous, sun-kissed cinematography. Cotillard plays Stephanie, a famous killer whale trainer, with Schoenaerts as Alain, a 25-year old homeless single father. The two enter into an unlikely relationship that is pushed to the brink when she loses her legs in a horrific accident.

Without having seen the film yet, this scene would appear to be a crucial one as it hints at Stephanie's reliance on Alain, not just physically but as a firewall against her depression. There's not a lot of dialogue, but what is said is extremely poignant.  Rust and Bone opens on November 23rd. Check out the clip below....
