New trailer for Kathryn Bigelow's 'Zero Dark Thirty'

The first trailer for Kathryn Bigelow's Zero Dark Thirty was pretty bland, and didn't really lift the veil on the approach the director and screenwriter Mark Boal were taking. Would it be just a global crime procedural, following a bunch of boring folks in suits sitting at their terminals while mysterious political figures argued in quiet rooms? It kinda looked that way, but the latest trailer for the film has emerged to blow those notions right out of the water.

With the film only a couple of months away from premiering, the latest trailer shows that we'll be getting a multi-faceted view of the mission to capture Osama Bin Laden. Not only do we see the people in the war room working out the details, but we also see the soldiers on the ground, and some of the behind-the-scenes political maneuverings in case things go sour. There's an urgency to this trailer that was sorely missing in the previous one.

Zero Dark Thirty stars Chris Pratt, Jessica Chastain, Joel Edgerton, Mark Strong, Mark Duplass, Kyle Chandler, Jason Clarke, Jennifer Ehle, and the newly revealed James Gandolfini as Leon Panetta. Will this be Bigelow's second straight Oscar winner? We'll find out when the film opens on December 19th...
