New poster for Edgar Wright's 'The World's End' with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost

For those who maybe have underestimated the value of writer/director Edgar Wright in relation to the comedic success of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, all you need to do is look at the films they've done without him. Pegg and Frost teamed up for the sci-fi comedy Paul, which never really came together in the way one might've expected. Pegg's solo career has mostly been underwhelming, while Frost was merely decent as a supporter player in Attack the Block. But as a trio it's hard to argue with two modern satirical gems like Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.

The World's End wraps up their much-loved "Three Flavours Cornetto" or "Blood and Ice Cream" trilogy, and after exploring zombie flicks and buddy cop flicks before, this one delves into what they refer to as "social sci-fi". A brand new poster has been released which certainly hints at some sort of apocalypse on the horizon for a group of five friends who attempt to relive an epic pub crawl they made 20 years earlier. Along the way something occurs that forces them to realize that the real struggle is for the future of humanity. Paddy Considine, Eddie Marsan, Rosamund Pike, and Martin Freeman round out a great cast to wrap up the series with.

Grab some good food, some fine ale, and prepare for total annihilation when The World's End arrives on October 25th 2013 release.
