Sure Shots: Boris Kodjoe; Caleb Landry Jones; Kevin Corrigan
* Sex addiction movies are all the rage right now. Between last year's Shame, Thanks For Sharing with Gwyneth Paltrow and Mark Ruffalo, and of course the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey. The latest is Addicted, an adaptation of Zane's novel about a happy married mother of three and successful businesswoman who satisfies her sexual addiction by sleeping around, until she meets a dangerous man who steers her in an even more dangerous direction. Directed by Billy Woodruff(Honey) and written by Christina Welsh, the first name to come aboard is Boris Kodjoe(Resident Evil: Retribution). His role is unclear right now, so we don't know if he'll play one of the many men she sleeps with, or if he's in line to play her husband. [Variety]
* Other than X-men: First Class, Caleb Landry Jones seems content to take an atypical and non-mainstream path to stardom. He's already got the vampire romance Byzantium; a pair of flicks directed by John Boorman(Hope and Glory); and of course Brandon Cronenberg's disturbing body horror Antiviral. Next up is an adaptation of Michel Marc Bouchard's stageplay Tom a la Ferme. Directed by Xavier Dolan(Laurence Anyways), the story follows Tom, who discovers that his recently deceased boyfriend's family had no idea of his sexual orientation. Threatened by his boyfriend's brother to keep the secret forever, Tom must decide whether to reveal the truth. Jones' role is uncertain, but we know it was reworked specifically for him so it must be pivotal. He'll join Eric Bruneau, Lise Roye, Evelyne Brochu, and Dolan himself as part of the cast. [Variety]
* Kevin Corrigan(Seven Psychopaths) has joined Akiva Goldsman's directorial debut, an adaptation of Mark Helprin's Winter's Tale. Starring Colin Farrell, Jessica Brown Findlay, Matt Bomer, Jennifer Connelly, William Hurt, Eva Marie Saint, with Russell Crowe and Will Smith in cameos, the story is set in a mythical version of New York City and follows a small time thief who falls in love with the terminally ill daughter of a millionaire whose home he's robbing. Corrigan will play Romeon Tan, part of the Short Tail gang who are tracking down the protagonist. [Variety]
