The Sunday Drive 10/14/12

3. Sinister
Scott Derrickson proves himself one of today's brilliant horror minds with the psychologically disturbing, uncomfortable Sinister. More terrifying than that same old found footage nonsense Paranormal Activity 4 will throw our way next week.

2. Seven Psychopaths
Colin Farrell should seriously consider never making another film without Martin McDonagh. Farrell's finest performance yet was in McDonagh's In Bruges, and now he's scored again with the equally devious and vulgar meta action/comedy Seven Psychopaths.
1. Argo
Showing that he's capable of more than just Boston crime thrillers, Ben Affleck goes global with a tense, exciting, and occasionally humorous look at one of the weirdest chapters in U.S. Intelligence history.

DVD Pick of the Week: Prometheus
Ambitious, beautiful, and oh so flawed, Ridley Scott's venture back into the world of Alien was a mixed bag for many of his most devoted fans, but to me it was a bold first step into crafting another revered sci-fi franchise.
