Mike Myers has finished a script for 'Wayne's World 3'
Talk of a potential third Wayne's World film has been around for years for some reason. Whether it makes sense or not, that's just sort of how it goes with all of these old relic franchises that worked for a certain age yet would appeal to nobody now. With sequels to Ghostbusters, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Dumb and Dumber, and Twins already in the works, I think Wayne's World has the least chance of success. Apparently, Mike Myers disagrees.
EW(via Joblo) have learned Myers has completed the first script for Wayne's World 3, which apparently involves "Wayne and Garth coping with the new era of music, transitioning from access cable to streaming internet (ala Youtube) and Wayne balancing his marriage to Cassandra." Other than the chance to see Tia Carrere in action again, this couldn't sound less appealing. ]
Dana Carvey has said in the past he'd be willing to play Garth again, and when he and Myers turned up on SNL a few years ago it certainly had people talking reunion. But this just sounds like desperation on Myers' part, as he hasn't really had much success of late. Even though I'm not all that keen on an Austin Powers 4, I'd much rather see him focus his energies on that.
