It's always exciting anytime a Wong Kar-Wai film is on the way, but The Grandmasters takes that to a whole new level. Venturing into the world of martial arts to tell the story of the legendary Yip Man, we were recently treated to an amazing trailer that shows Kar-Wai's stylized cinematography is still firmly in place as he switches up genres. Now a batch of new photos have been released that will hopefully be followed shortly by a U.S. release date. Please?
The images give us another look at Tony Leung as Yip Man, the martial arts master who trained Bruce Lee and other fighting icons. We also see Zhang Ziyi as a shadow boxing master; Song Hye-kyo as Yip Man's wife; and a couple of shots that could be posters.
The Grandmasters opens in China on December 18th, and if we don't hear something about it coming here by then I might have to hop on the first plane out. Check out all of the photos below....[ThePlaylist]
