It's been a long time since we've heard anything about The Baytown Outlaws, a film which has some comparing the work of director Barry Battles to early Quentin Tarantino. Bold comparisons indeed, and probably not what people are expecting when the biggest stars in it are Eva Longoria and Billy Bob Thornton.
Formerly titled The Baytown Disco, the film hits VOD next week and to remind people it exists a fresh new trailer has been released. The deep-fried genre film follows three ruthless outlaw brothers, hired by a woman to find the ex-husband who shot her three times then kidnapped her godson. Tarantino would surely dig the rather odd ensemble, which includes Thomas Sangster(Game of Thrones), Michael Rapaprt, Clayne Crawford, Daniel Cudmore, Travis Fimmel, Meagan Good, Brea Swan(Breakout Kings), Paul Wesley(The Vampire Diaries), and Agnes Bruckner(Blue Car). Packing a lot of energy and violence but not a lot of style, it remains to be seen whether Battles truly is a filmmaker to keep an eye on, or if he's just another in a long line of Tarantino wannabes.
The Baytown Outlaws hits VOD on December 3rd before hitting theaters in January....
