Release date set for 'All Superheroes Must Die'

Late last year we brought you a trailer for VS., a film that dared to combine comic book movies with the popular torture porn genre. Starring James Remar(Dexter) and Lucas Till(X-men: First Class), the film followed a group of superheroes who are stripped of their powers and forced by their arch-enemy to survive brutal Saw-style scenarios. Jason Trost directs and also stars as a hero known as Charge. While the effects were on the cheap, I dug the aesthetics and the concept, which we haven't really seen before. I'm sure this will open the floodgates.

Now with a catchier title in All Superheroes Must Die, the film has been granted a VOD release on January 1st 2013, before opening in theaters for a limited run just three days later. A DVD/Blu-Ray release has also been set for later the same month, so Image Entertainment really don't want to deal with this film for long, do they? These low-budget superhero flicks tend to be disappointing, but this one looks like a solid change of pace for the genre. For a refresher, check out the trailer below....
