Sure Shots: Viggo Mortensen; 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2'; Maria Bello

* It's been kind of a quiet year for Viggo Mortensen, but that doesn't mean he hasn't been busy. He's mostly been on the arthouse circuit, with Walter Salles On the Road hitting theaters soon and his dual roles in Everybody Has a Plan. He's sticking to the indie route for his next film, producing and starring in the upcoming feature from Lisandro Alonso(Liverpool). The untitled film follows "a Dane and his daughter who journey to a desert that exists in a realm beyond the confines of civilization." Ok, sounds just weird enough to work, at least it does with Mortensen on board. Filming begins early next year. [Variety]

* So when will production begin on The Amazing Spider-Man sequel? Sooner than you think. Andrew Garfield revealed on The Ellen Degeneres Show(people still watch that?) that pre-production was already underway and that production kicks off formally in February. Pretty quick, right? Might explain why Emma Stone is already rockin' the blond locks. Marc Webb is back to direct, with Shailene Woodley joining as Mary Jane Watson and Jamie Foxx expected to play Electro.

* First rumored for it back in April, Maria Bello(The Cooler) is now confirmed to star in James Wan's upcoming film, formerly titled House of Horror but now referred to as as the untitled "James Wan Presents" thriller. Bello will play police psychologist Dr. Elizabeth Klein, who along with a fellow cop investigate the brutal murder of five college students believed to be amateur ghost-hunters. Filming begins in January.
