If watching the new trailer for 21 & Over gives you a general sense of deja vu, don't fret. It's totally natural to feel as if it's familiar in a Wolfpack sort of way. That's because this wild night of drunken hijinks and debauchery is brought to you by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, the writers of The Hangover in their directorial debut. Feel better now? Good, now sit back and enjoy the ride.
Miles Teller(Footloose) and Skylar Astin(Pitch Perfect) play two buds who take their straight-A buddy Jeff Chang(Justin Chon) out for a wild night of heavy drinking to celebrate his 21st birthday, much to the chagrin of his father(who some will recognize from Lost) who wants his son ready for a critical med school exam in the morning. One beer turns into many, and soon everything that can go wrong does. I found it hilarious that they refer to Jeff Chang by his full name every single time, kind of like Steve Holt in Arrested Development. Otherwise this looks like familiar stuff, but I said much the same thing before Project X(which also featured Teller) and it turned out to be a surprising favorite.
