Two more added to cast of Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. series

With Joss Whedon gearing up to direct the pilot for Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. series in January, the cast is slowly but surely being finalized. With more recognizable names in Clark Gregg and Ming-Na Wen already on board, the latest additions are relative unknown. THR reports that Elizabeth Henstridge and Iain De Caestecker have signed up.

Henstridge last starred in The Butcher Brothers-directed horror film, The Thompsons, and will now play science wiz Agent Gemma Simmons. De Caestecker, best known for the BBC series The Fades, is Agent Leo Fitz, a tech guru. In true Whedon fashion, the two will spend most of their time bickering, but are considered masters in their field despite their young age.

Whedon will direct and co-write the pilot's script with his brother Jed and Melissa Tancharoen. Assuming the show gets picked up, which it almost certainly will, expect to see it on the 2013 fall schedule.
