Tina Fey in talks for 'The Muppets' sequel

Tina Fey has had it pretty good when it comes to her male co-stars. Alec Baldwin, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, just to name a few, and in 2009 she had a chance to work with The Office's Ricky Gervais on The Invention of Lying. We can debate on how successful that turned out to be, but there's no denying she and Gervais make for a powerful comedic duo, and it looks like we'll get to see it again as part of The Muppets sequel.

THR reports Fey to be in final talks to join the film, a European caper which would have her playing a Russian gulag prison guard. Sounds like Kermit and the gang may find themselves in the slammer at some point. She joins Gervais as the two main human leads, while Ty Burrell is also on board as a lazy Interpol agent. There's also the chance of a musical cameo by Christoph Waltz, if we're all lucky.

No Jason Segel, but James Bobin is back to direct, co-writing the script with Nicholas Stoller. Fey will be seen next co-hosting The Golden Globes with Amy Pohler.
