It doesn't sound like Bryan Singer is reaching out to everyone to come back for X-men: Days of Future Past, at least not when it comes to those he worked with previously. We know that Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, and Ian McKellen are all reprising their roles in the future-set story, along with the X-men: First Class crew. But is that all? Might we expect to see Famke Janssen return as Jean Grey?
SuperheroHype had a chance to speak with Janssen while she was doing press for Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, and she doesn't sound too confident of a comeback....
Janssen: "I'm sitting by the phone waiting, call me up Bryan!" she said, adding, "I think their challenge is that I died as Jean Grey and I died as the Phoenix, so what else can they do. If they bring a younger version back, they'll have to get a younger actress, so what is there left to do?"
Ummm, she was the all-powerful Phoenix. They could come up with any ridiculous idea they want to bring her back and it would probably make some sense. Janssen is expected to make a cameo in The Wolverine, probably in flashback or as a fever dream or something.
X-men: Days of Future Past arrives on July 18th 2014.
