Christopher Nolan's 'Insterstellar' lands November 2014 release date
Not that Christopher Nolan's name is ever far from the daily movie gossip, but it's been getting tossed around a lot more lately. Mostly it's centered on his supposed involvement in Warner Bros.' Justice League film, and the rumor that he'd essentially be taking over the entire superhero line. There may be some shred of that story that's true, but one thing we do know for sure is what Nolan will be doing outside the world of capes and super powers.
Earlier this year we received the exciting news that Nolan's next film would be Interstellar, a sci-fi film that's so ambitious it was developed by an actual theoretical physicist. This is going to be huge, so big that we've now learned that Warner Bros. and Paramount are teaming up to produce and distribute the film, giving it a November 7th 2014 release. The film has been in development for awhile, once eyed by Steven Spielberg as a potential directing gig. Nolan's brother Jonathan wrote the script, with the former tossing in some ideas of his own, and follows a group of explorers on an interstellar voyage through a wormhole.
That date suggests there may be some Oscar potential here, but failing that, this is expected to be a massive undertaking. It also means production will begin soon, so expect the rumors to start flying fast and furious. Warner Bros. will handle international distribution, while Paramount takes the domestic. Let's see how they get along.
