David O. Russell's Abscam film adds Dawn Olivieri and Elisabeth Rohm

It's safe to say that David O. Russell's Abscam film is expected to be a major awards season factor later this year. Already boasting an impressive ensemble that would make any filmmaker jealous, the cast continues to expand as production gets underway.

The latest to join are three best known for their small screen performances. Elisabeth Rohm (Law & Order), Dawn Olivieri (House of Lies), and Thomas Matthews (The Newsroom) will share time with Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner, Christian Bale, Louis C.K., and Amy Adams. The film details the 1980s Abscam sting operation, in which the FBI forced a con artist (Bale) and his mistress/partner (Adams) to help root out political corruption. Cooper plays the reckless federal agent running the operation, with Renner as the popular New Jersey state assemblyman caught up in the scandal. Olivieri will play Cooper's girlfriend, with Rohm and Matthews as Renner's wife and son.

The still-untitled film is slated to go wide release on Christmas Day. [Variety/THR]
