First trailer for Joss Whedon's 'Much Ado About Nothing'

So how do you go from a $1B-grossing superhero flick like The Avengers to an ultra-low budget, black and white adaptation of a Shakespeare play? If you're Joss Whedon, the answer is "pretty darn easily". The first trailer for Much Ado About Nothing is here, and I doubt the Bard would know what to make of it.

Jazzy, bristling with energy, and full of Whedon's trademark snappy patter, the film packs a number of his past associates and close friends all in one place for a modernized relationship comedy. Nathan Fillion, Amy Acker, Clark Gregg, Reed Diamond, Alexis Denisof, Sean Maher, Fran Kranz and more all took part as Whedon shot it mostly in secret last year. Generally, it's tough to make Shakespeare work in a contemporary setting, but Whedon seems to have found a way to make soliloquies sound cool. Go figure.

Much Ado About Nothing opens on June 7th.
