Greta Gerwig charms in the new 'Frances Ha' trailer
Throughout her young career, Greta Gerwig has excelled at playing women who are struggling to get their lives in order. Her charm, beauty, and I would say effervescent spirit have carried her a long way as she's made the transition from her successful "mumblecore" beginnings to bigger but less rewarding stuff like the Arthur remake. But she hasn't left behind her indie roots, recently starring in the relationship dramedy Lola Versus, and next up for her she pairs with Noah Baumbach on the curiously-titled Frances Ha.
We've seen plenty of photos from the film already, which received rave reviews on the festival circuit last year. As its May release date approaches, a new trailer has emerged that is energetic, vibrant, and full of Gerwig's substantial charm. Co-written by Gerwig and Baumbach, the film follows Frances, a New Yorker just bouncing through life without much of a plan. All she knows is that she wants more out of everything, and is clearly willing to tackle her dreams with an unparalleled joy and enthusiasm. From the score to the black and white presentation, everything about this trailer speaks to it being one of those surprise spring season films that utterly wipes out the winter blues. I personally can't wait.
Frances Ha arrives on May 17th. Check out the trailer below.
