Liam Neeson and Giovanni Ribisi join Seth MacFarlane's 'A Million Ways to Die in the West'
Hosting the Oscars didn't exactly work out for Seth MacFarlane, but hey, it never really works out for anybody. It's no skin off his back, and since the show ended he's been busy casting up his directorial follow-up to Ted, the comedy-western A Million Ways to Die in the West. Today brings us a double barrell of new additions as Liam Neeson and Giovanni Ribisi have decided to saddle up.
MacFarland will not only direct, but co-write and star in the film that has him as Albert, a wimpy sheep farmer who backs out on a gunfight, losing his girlfriend in the process. Amanda Seyfried plays his ex-gal, while Charlize Theron play the wife of an outlaw who teaches him how to fight. Neeson will take on the role of the outlaw, while Ribisi will play Albert's cuckolded best friend, Edward. The role was once offered to Jonah Hill, but he rejected it, leaving the door open for Ribisi to step in.
Ribisi made a creepy but hilarious turn as the teddy bear-obsessed stalker in Ted, so he and MacFarland must have become thunder buddies on set. A Million Ways to Die in the West begins filming in May.[THR/Deadline]
