While Kick-Ass 2 looks to be as irreverent, vulgar, and violent as its hit predecessor, there are some pretty big changes afoot. The vigilante antics of Kick-Ass (Aaron Johnson) have given rise to an entire league of street heroes known as Justice Forever, led by ex-mafia enforcer Colonel Stars and Stripes, played by Jim Carrey and gracing one of three new character posters.
Christopher Mintz-Plasse, sporting facial hair more menacing than his mask, is also back, now sporting the R-rated monicker of The Motherfucker. Formerly the Red Mist and one of Kick-Ass's best buds, he now seeks revenge for the death of his father, a mob boss who previously employed Colonel Stars and Stripes. The other image is a familiar one of Chloe Moretz as Hit-Girl, who joins Justice Forever in their fight against crime.
Directed by Jeff Wadlow, Kick-Ass 2 hits theaters on August 16th.
