New footage in the latest trailer for 'Oblivion' starring Tom Cruise
Universal Pictures has released a new trailer for Oblivion, the upcoming futuristic sci-fi film pairing up Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski with Tom Cruise. So far they've done a good job of keeping the central mystery at bay, while giving us a look at the amazing visual effects. While I've heard some rumblings that the script by William Monahan and Michael Arndt can get a bit confusing as it deals heavily with flashback and memory, it still looks like a proper bounce back for Cruise after Jack Reacher.
Cruise is a drone repairman on a devastated and abandoned Earth after an alien attack. Everything he's been led to believe is thrown into question with the discovery of a crashed escape pod housing a beautiful woman (Olga Kurylenko), and soon he's fighting off drones and teaming with a rebel faction led by Morgan Freeman to save humanity. The trailer also gives us a better look at the character played by Melissa Leo, an authority figure who has her own secret agenda.
Co-starring Andrea Riseborough and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Oblivion hits theaters on April 12th. Check out the trailer below....
