Marvel rumors have been flying fast and pretty darn furious in the lead up to the Comic-Con panels, with many potential announcements already spoiled to some degree. This latest story probably wasn't due to be revealed in Hall H or anything, but it does come as a little bit of a spoiler for Thor: The Dark World and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Benicio Del Toro's 'Galaxy' role has been the source of some mystery for awhile, but recent speculation has him as playing the Elder of the Universe known as The Collector. It's believed he's signed on for multiple appearances across the Marvel spectrum, and one of those other films he'll figure into looks to be the Thor sequel.
Clive Russell, who plays Tyr in the Thor film, revealed to Flicks & The City that he's shot a scene with Del Toro, meaning The Collector has something dire to say to the Asgardians...
Russell: "I worked with Benicio Del Toro on a scene in which he was meant to be quite angry. Sitting fifteen feet away I couldn’t hear a word he was saying."
The Collector is the one who first saw the threat of Thanos emerge, so it's probably a safe bet that he's there to talk about the Infinity Gauntlet and the Tesseract, both of which are in Asgard now.
We'll find out what the deal is for sure when Thor: The Dark World opens on November 8th. Guardians of the Galaxy hits on August 1st 2014. [NextMovie]
