Set Photo, Featurette and Teaser Poster for Wally Pfister's 'Transcendence'

From Memento to The Dark Knight Rises, Wally Pfister has been making Christopher Nolan's movies look incredible for a long time. The famed cinematographer's career has risen right alongside Nolan's, and after wrapping up the Batman trilogy he decided to follow in his footsteps by making his directorial debut, Transcendence. The story centers on a scientist who has his mind uploaded into a supercomputer after he is murdered by anti-technology radicals. Considering the veil of secrecy that has been draped over the production, it's clear he picked up a few of Nolan's tricks, but now that shooting is taking place we're finally starting to see some imagery and footage from the anticipated sci-fi flick.

An international featurette takes us behind-the-scenes of Transcendence, giving us a glimpse at the celebrity cast which includes Johnny Depp, Rebecca Hall, Morgan Freeman, Kate Mara, Clifton Collins, Paul Bettany, and Cole Hauser. Along with it comes a new set photo, and a Chinese promo poster. The film is being co-financed by Beijing's DMG Entertainment, and its founder Dan Mintz opened up a little about the plot...

Mintz: "Without giving away too much, Transcendence is about that moment when human consciousness and the insanely fast rise of computing power collide. It pulls from the idea of singularity to tell a truly meaningful story that is more ‘science reality’ than science fiction. This is something that is likely to happen in our lifetimes and that makes it a story everyone can get into."

The featurette is short, but is notable because of the presence of Hall, who already popular in China due to her presence in Iron Man 3. Unlike that film, there won't be any China-specific footage when Transcendence opens on April 18th 2014.
