Trailer for 'Cold Comes the Night' Starring Bryan Cranston and Alice Eve
It's not like Breaking Bad was exactly keeping Bryan Cranston off the big screen, as he has been one of the more prolific actors over the last year. But now that the show is over we can expect to see him in even more movies like the low-budget Cold Comes the Night. Whether that's good or not...well, the new trailer for the suspense thriller directed by Tze Chun (Children of Invention) kind of suggests the latter.
Cranston stars alongside Alice Eve and Logan Marshall-Green (Prometheus) in the story of a desperate woman living out of a motel with her daughter. When she sees a woman die next to a pile of cash, she of course takes it for herself, but then Cranston arrives with a shaky Russian accent looking for his money, and things get nasty from there. While there do seem to be a few moments where it looks like a genuinely intense genre film, the limited production values are a major distraction, and there's little about it other than the cast that suggests it's worth looking out for. And since the film has yet to gain a U.S. release date, maybe we'll never have to.
