Joel McHale and Wendi McLendon-Covey Join Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore Rom-Com 'The Familymoon'
Regardless of the junk they may put out when apart, audiences love it when Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler get together. The 50 First Dates and The Wedding Singer pair are teaming up again for a new romantic comedy, which previously had the title of Blended, but now has been granted the awful new title of The Familymoon, and has added two big comedy stars to the cast.
Community star Joel McHale and Bridesmaids breakout Wendi McLendon-Covey have joined the film, which centers on a couple who have an awful blind date, ending up stuck at a resort with all of the children from their prior marriages. McLedon-Covey is replacing the departing Chelsea Handler, taking on the role of Barrymore's childless best friend, while McHale is Barrymore's ex-husband. So basically this is The Brady Bunch meets Couples Retreat, which is a combination I never want to see play out ever.
Frank Coraci is directing The Familymoon for release on May 23rd 2014.
