New Trailer for Long-Shelved Horror 'All The Boys Love Mandy Lane'
Over the last seven years we've seen Jonathan Levine really spread his wings as a filmmaker, catching a lot of attention for The Wackness, then moving on to 50/50 and this year's Warm Bodies. But during that time his first film, All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, sat gathering dust and becoming something of an underground cult favorite in the process. Earlier this year, The Weintein Company's genre label Radius picked up the rights (Weinstein had it initially. Long story.), and finally they're bringing it to theaters and giving it an actual marketing push with a brand new trailer. It's the least they can do.
The film stars a young Amber Heard as Mandy Lane, a popular "good girl" in school and the one all the guys want to hook up with. When she agrees to go to a party at a secluded ranch, she gets macked on by pretty much everybody, until one-by-one they start turning up dead. It's a great film, one that showcases the style Levine would adopt in his later projects, especially in regards to his eclectic taste in mood music. But it's just as much of a centerpiece role for Heard, and it's tough to think of a performance that she's been better.
All the Boys Love Mandy Lane hits VOD on September 6th, then theaters October 11th. Or you can go ahead and the the Blu-Ray now right here.
