Gerard Butler and Geoffrey Rush In 'Gods of Egypt'; Harrison Gilbertson Joins 'Fallen'
* When his adaptation of Paradise Lost fell through, Alex Proyas decided he really wanted to stay in the realm of the divine. So his next directorial project became Gods of Egypt, and a few months ago he added Game of Thrones star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as the Egyptian god Horus. Now he's added two more big names with Gerard Butler and Oscar-winner Geoffrey Rush coming aboard. The epic fantasy film centers on a human who is humanity's last hope to stop the evil god of the desert, Set, played by Butler. Rush will play Set and Horus' father, the sun god Ra. Somehow none of these people strike me as looking very Egyptian. [THR]
* Harrison Gilbertson (Blessed) will complete the love triangle in Scott Hicks' adaptation of best-selling YA novel, Fallen. He'll compete with Jeremy Irvine for the love of Addison Timlin in the film about Lucina Price, a girl sent to Sword & Cross reform school after being accused of murdering a boy by committing arson. What Lucinda doesn't realize is that the majority of students enrolled there are fallen angels, and she soon becomes romantically torn between two of them. Irvine plays the handsome and protective angel Daniel Gregori, while Gilbertson is the dangerous Cameron Briel.
