A few months ago Michael Fassbender was looking to star alongside Natalie Portman in the western Jane Got A Gun. When he skipped town just before filming began it set off a chaotic chain of events that cursed the entire production. Fassbender still has cowboy in his blood, though, and he's got another western on the way.
Fassbender will join Ben Mendelsohn (The Place Beyond the Pines) and Kodi Smit-McPhee (Let Me In) for Slow West, a gunslinger film directed by ex-Beta Band member John Maclean. It won't be the first pairing of Fassbender and Mclean, who have worked on a couple of short films together and have been talking up a feature collaboration for a couple of years.
There are no plot details available at this point, but that should change soon as filming will begin in New Zealand later this year.
