New Trailer for 'Toy Story of Terror' as Pixar Delays 'The Good Dinosaur' and 'Finding Dory'

With Pixar's consistent track record of releasing one animated classic after another, even the less successful ones are solid, we've come to look at the studio differently than we do others. But they are just as subject to delays and creative problems as any other, and it looks like one issue is going to cause us to not have a Pixar film in 2014, making it the first year since 2005 that they've gone without a theatrical release.

Pixar's The Good Dinosaur has been going without a director since we learned Bob Peterson had been removed from the project last month. He had been co-directing it with Peter Sohn, but rather than give the job fully to him, a Pixar brain trust had taken over. It's possible that they may not have fixed all of the creative issues that led to Peterson's removal, because the film has now been moved from its May 30th 2014 date to November 25th 2015. They may use that time to give the film, which posits that the dinosaurs were never wiped out and now live side-by-side with humans, a director who can dedicate all of his time to it.  The film now takes the place of Finding Dory, the Finding Nemo sequel now getting bumped to June 17th 2016.  Unless Pixar shuffles some things around, 2014 is now wide open with their next feature Pete Docter's ambitious Inside Out arriving June 19th 2015.

As for Pixar's next project, it will be on the small screen with the Halloween special Toy Story of Terror. A new trailer has been released for the 30-minute event, which brings back Tim Allen, Tom Hanks, and the gang to voice everyone's favorite toys as they're haunted by some sort deadly force after being stuck at motel ripped straight out of Psycho. Tune in or set your DVR for October 16th, if only for the Pez dispenser gag.
