Shocker! No Truth to Denzel Washington as Green Lantern Rumor

Not that there was ever any doubt, but there doesn't seem to be any truth behind rumors Denzel Washington is playing Green Lantern in Batman vs. Superman. The original story emerged over at Nuke the Fridge, not the most credible of sources, but it took off with numerous sites posting it as fact when it was anything but. Now the highly-respected folks at Batman News have weighed in, and since they're generally spot-on when it comes to the Dark Knight, what they have to say means a lot...

"The rumor of the day is that Denzel Washington will be playing Green Lantern in Batman vs. Superman, but that’s simply not true. From what we’ve heard so far, Green Lantern isn’t even going to be in Batman vs. Superman. Like every other great actor in Hollywood, Washington’s name has been tied to the role of Lex Luthor, but we’re still waiting for Warner Bros. to confirm if the bald Superman villain will even be a part of the project."

Pretty much nailed it. The only beef I have with anything the site has to say is they posted a tweet by Latino Review where they mock Nuke the Fridge as "a bunch of cornballs". Last I checked, LR has posted some questionable (read: totally horseshit) rumors themselves, but whatever.
