Not all of the awards this movie season belong to fancy guilds or local critics groups. There's even one for those of us who do this thing online only, as the Online Film Critics Society (of which I am a voting member) revealed the winners of their awards for 2013.
Truth be told there are absolutely no surprises this year, as Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave ruled them all with five wins, with Chiwetel Ejiofor, Lupita Nyong'o, and Michael Fassbender winning in the acting categories, along with Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay. However it was Alfonso Cuaron taking home the Best Director award for his space thriller, Gravity, which also continued its streak for cinematography.
