Here's something that will come as a surprise to absolutely no one, but Marvel's
Captain America: The Winter Soldier will somehow tie into
The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Disney CEO Bob Iger told investors the film will “set critical events in motion” that will lead directly into
The Avengers sequel, although he neglected to reveal any details. In other words, expect cameos and a bridging post-credits sequence or something along those lines.
He also revealed that some aspects of the Captain America storyline will be reflected in
Agents of SHIELD. The show has consistently portrayed SHIELD as manipulative, highly secretive, and potentially dangerous, and the Captain America trailers seem to be suggesting much the same thing. So it's likely this is what Iger is referring to.
