First Trailer for Simon Pegg's 'Hector and the Search for Happiness'

Attempts to turn Simon Pegg into a leading man outside of Star Trek or his Edgar Wright team-ups have mostly crashed and burned, but there may be hope right around the corner. The first trailer has debuted for Hector and the Search for Happiness, a film which should give him a shot to show off his comedic skills and the dramatic range he displayed in The World's End last year.

Co-starring Rosamund Pike, Christopher Plummer, Toni Collette, Stellan Skarsgard, and Jean Reno, the film has Pegg as a London psychologist who can't seem to make his patients any happier. In order to find out if happiness truly exists he sets off on a journey that takes him to all corners of the globe.

Peter Chelsom (Shall We Dance?) is directing, and the film resembles a small-scale The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, which was met with a lukewarm reception. Hector and the Search for Happiness opens in the U.K. later this year. [Collider]
