New Trailer for 'Odd Thomas', Finally Hitting Theaters this Month

Fans of Dean Koontz's popular paranormal super-sleuth Odd Thomas have had to sit on their hands a long time waiting for the movie to hit theaters. Announced seemingly an eternity ago with Anton Yelchin in the title role, the film ran into a legal buzzsaw that found the film regulated to a DirecTV exclusive release rather than a full theatrical run. That was where I saw it and found it to be a "funny and endearing curiosity" that faithfully recaptures Koontz's novels.

But it looks like all of the courtroom drama is over because Odd Thomas is finally heading to theaters and Itunes on February 28th, with a new trailer to herald the good news. Yelchin co-stars with Addison Timlin (as girlfriend Stormy Llewellyn), Willem Dafoe, Patton Oswalt, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw in the story of Odd Thomas, a small town fry cook gifted with the ability to see and communicate with the dead, using his power to solve crimes and prevent murders. Stephen Sommers (The Mummy) directs, and while he perhaps gives the film a more light-hearted tone he doesn't shy away from the stuff that really tests Odd's character.
