Dwayne Johnson Becomes 'Hercules' on the First Poster

Although rumors persist that Dwayne Johnson will end up in a Warner Bros. comic book movie in the near future, for now there are no plans to see him in one. Instead we'll see Johnson next as the Greek mythological hero, Hercules, in the summer film directed by Brett Ratner, and the actor sees this as his opportunity to play such a character, telling USA Today "He was the first superhero."

Earlier today we received the first official images from the film, and now Johnson has tweeted the new poster. It comes with the tagline "Become the man you were meant to be," and at least on this image the man he wants to be is extremely angry and swinging a giant club.

Hercules co-stars Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Joseph Fiennes, Peter Mullan, John Hurt, Rebecca Ferguson, and is based on the Radical Comics series, Hercules: The Thracian Wars. Look for the film to open July 25th.
