First Look at Amy Acker as Coulson's Cellist Girlfriend on 'Agents of SHIELD'

Once you're a part of the Whedon-verse you never really get away from it. Even as many of Joss Whedon's cast from his most popular shows have scattered to other projects, they often find their way back to him at some point. One of those who has remained extremely loyal is Amy Acker. Best known for playing Fred on Angel, she also appeared in The Cabin in the Woods and was brilliant in Much Ado About Nothing. Now she crosses into Whedon's world one more time in a guest appearance on Marvel's Agents of SHIELD.

Acker will play Audrey, the cellist Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) first mentioned in The Avengers and was recently brought up on the TV series. When Raina (Ruth Negga) was trying to break Coulson she mentioned Audrey and how she cried for days upon learning of his death. She'll turn up in the April 22nd episode, and it may not be her only appearance...

Acker:  "It seems like these two people are meant to be together and their story hasn’t really been told. The way that it ends in this episode, it seems like there’s a glimmer of hope that they may be together again or something like that. I feel like it’s sort of destiny for their paths to cross in some way."

Perfect casting? You betcha.
