Sony is ready to drop The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in theaters in just a few weeks, but already we're learning a lot about what's coming up next. And what's coming up is an awful lot of villains for Spidey to deal with. We know that Electro, Rhino, and Green Goblin will be making his life miserable next, followed by what will be Sinister Six and Venom spinoffs. And now today we're getting one more fresh look at Dane DeHaan as Spidey's green nemesis, plus some new information on how 'Spider-Man 2' will connect to future films.
First up is the best glimpse yet at DeHaan as the Green Goblin, and this is certainly a far cry from the emerald-masked version we saw in Sam Raimi's trilogy. This one is in serious need of dental work, a shower, and a better wardrobe. Clearly, whatever process he's undergone at Oscorp has affected more than his mental state.
The latest cover of EW has stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone on the cover, but what's on the inside reveals some pretty big info on the bad guys forming the Sinister Six...
“At the tail end of this movie we set up some of the other characters that will probably end up being in the Sinister Six,” Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal tells the magazine. “We’re going forward on all fronts.”
A close inspection of the most recent trailers shows what looks to be the Venom symbiote, Doctor Octopus' tentacles, and the Vulture's artificial wings. Perhaps that scene is setting up those three as potential recruits?
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens May 2nd.
