First Trailer for Jason Momoa's Directorial Debut 'Road to Paloma'

Jason Momoa's kind of had it tough getting established on the big screen. They trotted him out as Conan and that bombed; he starred with Sylvester Stallone in Bullet to the Head and that predictably flopped; and he's apparently got a role in Batman vs. Superman but even that isn't really confirmed yet. Of late he's been digging in to his Native American heritage on the excellent TV series Red Road, and he's doing so again while entering the next phase of his career as a director on the film, Road to Paloma.

Momoa wrote, produced, directed, and stars in the film which has him playing Wolf, a Native American who takes the law into his own hands when his mother is raped and murdered on reservation land. Now pursued by the FBI, he joins up with a failed musician (Robert Mollohan) and the two bikers hit the road for what looks like a grungy, moody flick for dudes. Momoa's wife Lisa Bonet (also in Red Road) co-stars, along with Wes Studi (Last of the Mohicans) and Sarah Shahi.

Road to Paloma hits VOD on July 4th and theaters a week later. That will be followed by a home video release on July 15th which is the weirdest turnaround time ever.
