Jessica Biel, Patrick Wilson, and Imogen Poots Join Patricia Highsmith's 'The Blunderer'

The novels of author Patricia Highsmith have always been favorites around Hollywood, but right now there's a run to adapt them like never before. Todd Haynes is filming Carol with Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara starring, and there's also The Two Faces of January coming later this year with Viggo Mortensen and Kirsten Dunst. Last year we learned Andy Goddard would be bringing Highsmith's 1957 psychological thriller The Blunderer to the big screen, and now we know the cast.

Jessica Biel, Patrick Wilson, Imogen Poots, and Toby Jones will star in the untitled film, based on one of Highsmith's craziest stories. Wilson will play Walter Stackhouse, an architect in 1960s New York "married to the beautiful Clara (Biel) and leading a charmed and perfect life. But his fascination with an unsolved murder leads him into a spiral of chaos as he is forced to play cat-and-mouse with a clever killer (Jones) and an over-ambitious detective. Walter's obsession, his lies and his lust for another woman (Poots) will collide in a crush of guilt, innocence and, ultimately, fate."

The plan is for filming to begin later this year.
