We won't get to see Scarlett Johansson hanging out with her Avengers pals this summer, but she'll still be starring in a film full of super powers. A new international trailer has been released for Luc Besson's action flick,
Lucy, which has Johansson as a woman forced to become a drug mule, only to have some of the narcotics seep into her body. Rather than a drug overdose, she's gifted with incredible powers that ramp up her brain power to uncharted levels, while also granting her the powers of telekinesis and increased pain tolerance. Basically she becomes an ass-kicking machine and sets out for some sort of revenge with Morgan Freeman aiding her and Choi Min-Sik (
Oldboy) as the target.
Besson certainly gives the film a kinetic visual look but there's no denying his films of late have left a lot to be desired. But with Johannson headlining, mere months after starring in
Captain America: The Winter Soldier,
Lucy is poised to do some damage on August 8th.
