Nicholas Hoult and Emilia Clarke are Bonnie & Clyde in 'Go Down Together'

With the latest Bonnie & Clyde miniseries pulling in nearly 10M viewers with Holliday Grainger (who?) and Emile Hirsch as the infamous crime couple, it's no surprise their story is being brought back to the silver screen. About three years ago, Sheldon Turner (Up in the Air) was brought on to pen an adaptation of Jeff Guinn's novel, Go Down Together: The True, Untold Story of Bonnie and Clyde, with Neil Burger planning to make it his next feature. That never came about and Burger moved on to Divergent, with Michael Sucsy (The Vow) taking his place. Now the film is back on with two red-hot stars in Nicholas Hoult and Emilia Clarke.

Go Down Together takes a somewhat less romanticized look at Bonnie and Clyde's story, acknowledging their troubled upbringing in the Dallas slums and their flawed crime spree. For one, Guinn suggests that Clyde's first murder was of his cellmate who sexually abused him. He also claims that Bonnie was a prostitute before hooking up with Clyde.

So at least this version will be different than the rest and have the growing star power of Hoult and Clarke, who are both attached to big franchises at the moment. He'll be seen next in X-men: Days of Future Past, while she already has Game of Thrones and will be part of next year's Terminator reboot.
