New Trailer Has Abigail Breslin as Tyler Shields' 'Final Girl'

Clearly, Abigail Breslin is no longer the precocious little girl we fell in love with in Little Miss Sunshine, and her move from child actress to leading lady has been awkward and familiar. So while trying to figure out whether to be known for her dramatic chops or for being sexy, there have been a few missteps. One such error in judgement was a disturbing, topless photo spread (with lollipops!!) she did with style photographer Tyler Shields, who also happens to be her director on the horror film, Final Girl.

Shields is making his directorial debut and judging by this trailer he should probably stick with his day job. Stagey and lacking in personality, the shoestring budget is the most noticeable thing about it. But at the same time it's kind of fun to see Breslin as a girl hunting down and killing a bunch of murderous guys who mistake her for just another female victim, only to learn she's actually an assassin-in-training. Wes Bentley, Alexander Ludwig, Cameron Bright, and Shields' ex Francesca Eastwood (yep, she's Clint's daughter) co-star.

Final Girl has yet to gain a release date, and with the similarly-titled and themed Final Girls with Taissa Farmiga and Malin Akerman on the way it will be interesting to see if it ever does.
