Amazing 'Deadpool' Film Test Footage Shows Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth
A film based on the popular Marvel character Deadpool has been in the works forever, and for one reason or another it has simply never happened. At one point the blame was placed on finding the right tone for what had to be an R-rated effort, but really that seems like a minor issue and there must be more to it. Ryan Reynolds, who played a badly-written Deadpool in X-men Origins: Wolverine, has been set to play the Merc with a Mouth since the beginning, with Tim Miller the latest attached to direct. Most recently it was X-men producer Lauren Schuler Donner who said she still really wants to make this movie happen, and now some test footage has emerged that should have Deadpool fans beating down her door to make sure she does.
The footage has simply appeared on Youtube out of nowhere but it's clearly not a fan film. For one, it has Ryan Reynolds' voice and the CGI is a little too good for your standard fan production. Basically it's Deadpool, breaking the 4th wall in typically hilarious fashion, as he takes down a few thugs in a moving car. I've always said the film that proved Reynolds would be the perfect Deadpool was his Blade: Trinity in which he played the wise-cracking Hannibal King. The tone is exactly on point in here and it looks pretty good, too, so hopefully this is what Miller and Reynolds will be giving us if/when a Deadpool movie happens.
