It's taken some time but Ben Schwartz is starting to grow on me. He's been great on Showtime's House of Lies and has a funny supporting role in this week's This is Where I Leave You, and now the Emmy-winning actor/writer has some big names attached to a new comedy he has put together.
Anchorman director Adam McKay is set to helm an untitled comedy that will star Schwartz and Seth Rogen. It's based on a story developed by Schwartz but no details have been revealed yet. McKay and Will Ferrell will be producing through their Gary Sanchez Productions, alongside Rogen and Evan Goldberg's Point Grey banner.
As you'd expect, Rogen had something funny to say about the deal:
Rogen: “Every two thousand years the planets of our galaxy align in a perfect line that funnels the cosmic energies of the universe to flow into one perfect comedic collaboration. The time is now. This is that project. Nothing will ever be the same,” said Rogen with Goldberg adding, “McKay and Schwartz are reeeeeeal smart, well-endowed guys and we couldn't be more excited to be working with them.”
