Is Christopher Nolan's Interstellar going to be part of the Best Picture race? With so many potential awards movies having recently premiered on the festival circuit, Interstellar won't be seen until it opens in two months, which theoretically should make it a contender. Normally sci-fi has had a tough time breaking in but last year's Gravity may opened the doors for the genre to be a factor in more than just technical categories. We'll find out soon enough but for now Paramount Pictures has revealed a new poster which puts Matthew McConaughey front, center, and in a space suit.
"The end of the Earth will not be the end of us." Interstellar follows a group of explorers who head into space to find a new home planet when the Earth becomes inhabitable. They'll travel through some kind of wormhole to “surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage”.
Starring Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Casey Affleck, John Lithgow, Wes Bentley, Mackenzie Foy, and Topher Grace, Interstellar opens November 7th.
