Peter Dinklage to Star as a Bounty Hunting Dwarf in 'The Thicket'

The most recent of Joe R. Lansdale's novels to hit the screen was the throwback thriller, Cold in July, which stormed the festival circuit and featured three scene-chewing performances by Don Johnson, Sam Shepard, and Michael C. Hall. One can only hope the next Lansdale adaptation affords its star a similar opportunity, because it will be none other than Peter Dinklage leading The Thicket.

Dinklage will venture as far away from Game of Thrones' Westeros as possible for The Thicket, which is set in early 20th century East Texas and follows Jack, "an innocent young man, who goes on an epic quest to rescue his sister after she has been kidnapped by a violent killer, Cut Throat Bill, and his gang." Dinklage will play Short, a bounty-hunting dwarf who aids in Jack's quest alongside a street smart prostitute and the alcoholic grave-digging son of an ex-slave.

No word on who will direct or if Lansdale will take part in adapting the screenplay, but we know Dinklage will also be producing.
