New Trailer for Crime Thriller 'The Lookalike' starring Justin Long and Gillian Jacobs
There wasn't a lot of celebrating when news broke that some guy named Richard Gray would be directing a remake of Takashi Miike's horror classic, Audition. Part of the reason is nobody knows who the heck Gray is and why he's qualified for such a task. Well, if you're curious to see what he can do, then this trailer for his next film The Lookalike should help. Uh, it may not instill you with a lot of confidence, though.
Starring Justin Long (he's out of the walrus suit now?), Gillian Jacobs, John Corbett, Jerry O'Connell, Gina Gershon, and Luis Guzman (O'Connelll/Gershon/Guzman, the "B-movie trifecta"), the story centers on the death of Sadie, the favorite gal of a drug lord, and his goons attempts to find a suitable replacement for her. And "suitable" means a girl who looks exactly like Sadie, and he'll pay any amount of money for her. That leads to a bunch of crazy characters looking to cash in the odd job. This looks pretty terrible, mainly because the premise seems to demand it be a comedy, yet this trailer is gloomy and boring and blah.
The Lookalike hits VOD on November 7th.
